Compared with the flat plate screen, the pyramid screen has the following good characters:
1. Larger Shaker Capacity:
The total amount of usable API on-blanked screen area can increase by 105% when use pyramid screen on shale shaker. Fluids drilling management capacity will be more than 25%.
2. Better Permeability:
Due to corrugated screen’s trough, the working area is larger, so when the gravity and vibration forces the drilling solids into the screen, it allowing more fluid to pass through the top of the screen.
3. Drier Cuttings:
A more effective and faster drying capability will be occurred because of pyramid screens minimize fluid loss by dispersing thinner layers of fluid over an increased screen area.
4. Faster Fine Screen:
Utilizing Pyramid screen enable shakers to screen 2 to 3 mesh sizes finer than traditional perforated plate flat screen panels. This maximizes the solids removal efficiency of the shaker.
5. Maker Fine Separations:
Pyramid screens are capable of making separations as fine as 43 microns.
